Steel production is a major energy consumer and carbon emitter. Traditional steel production processes, such as blast furnace ironmaking, are highly dependent on fossil energy such as coal, resulting in large amounts of carbon dioxide emissions. According to relevant data, carbon emissions from the steel industry account for 7%-9% of the world's total emissions. In my country, this proportion is as high as about 15%. With the global attention paid to climate change issues, countries have proposed carbon reduction targets, and the steel industry is facing tremendous pressure to reduce emissions.

Allianz Steel Group adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthens the "four consciousnesses", strengthens the "four self-confidences", and achieves the "two safeguards". It unswervingly follows the new path of high-quality development oriented by ecological priority and green development, thoroughly implements Xi Jinping's thoughts on ecological civilization, promotes green, circular and low-carbon development, and strives to build a modern civilization that coexists harmoniously with the city. In 2021, it will incorporate the realization of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" into the company's "14th Five-Year Plan" development planning goals. In mid-May, it will be the first in the region and the third in the industry to release carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals: strive to achieve carbon peak in 2023, and have the technological capabilities to reduce carbon by 30% in 2030; strive to reduce carbon emissions by 50% from the peak in 2042, and achieve carbon neutrality in 2050. In order to accelerate the innovation of key green and low-carbon processes, promote major technological breakthroughs such as hydrogen metallurgy and carbon dioxide resource utilization, promote the recycling of waste heat and pressure of metallurgical furnaces, negative energy steelmaking, coke oven dry quenching and other technologies, and achieve a profound change in production methods. Improve steel production processes, optimize key economic and technical indicators such as fuel ratio and iron-steel ratio, comprehensively promote the full life cycle of product design, give play to the leading and driving role of "industrial product green design demonstration enterprises", provide green and low-carbon steel products for downstream users, and promote coordinated carbon reduction in the industrial chain. Give play to the role of national key laboratories and national technology centers, promote product technology innovation, use the excellent characteristics of rare earth steel, develop lightweight, long-life, and recyclable products to meet the needs of green and low-carbon transformation of the economy and society. Improve the construction of green mines, continue to carry out energy-saving and ultra-low emission transformation, achieve ultra-low emissions (coke ovens, sintering, pelletizing, smelting and other production processes and unorganized emission points), carry out special actions (special actions to improve air quality, special actions to prevent and control wastewater pollution, special actions to prevent and control soil pollution, special actions to optimize energy structure, etc.), and resolutely fight the battle to protect blue sky, clear water and clean land.
