SS 317L Sheets & Plates are widely used in various industrial applications worldwide. These stainless steel plates are commonly employed in textile equipment, food processing equipment, condensers in fossil fuel and nuclear power generation, and more. They are also utilized in chemical processing equipment, pulp and paper manufacturing, petrochemical equipment, and similar applications.During the manufacturing process, SS 317/317L Sheets & Plates undergo rigorous quality checks and testing. These tests include flattening tests, mechanical tests, chemical tests, pitting resistance tests, micro and macro tests, hardness tests, positive material identification, flaring tests, and tensile tests.Grade Alloy 317L is an austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content and the addition of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. These additions enhance its corrosion resistance and resistance to chemical attacks from sulfurous, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids. The low carbon content in 317L Stainless Steel provides resistance to sensitization when welded and offers higher creep, stress to rupture, and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. While it is non-magnetic in the annealed condition, it may become slightly magnetic after welding.
